In the Shadow of Dictatorship: Creating the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art

Institution: The Meadows Museum · Curator: Clarisse Fava-Piz | IDENTITY DESIGN · EXHIBITION DESIGN · INVITATION DESIGN · SIGNAGE DESIGN · MARKETING DESIGN SUITE
This exhibition features over forty exceptional pieces from the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español’s collection, with most being displayed for the first time in the United States.

The exhibition narrates the tale of this pioneering museum established by Fernando Zóbel (1924–1984), an artist, critic, and collector. It explores the diverse spectrum of Spanish abstract art during the mid-twentieth century, while Spain was under the Francoist regime.
